On a beautiful Monday, members of the Knights of the Holy Temple went on a rock climbing adventure. We began by hiking up toward the Appalachian Trail in Maryland. After arriving at the top, we approached the cliff where we'd be climbing (many of you may have seen it from a distance as you drove east on Route 70). Mr. Matt Gearhart was our experienced climber who had all the equipment - including safety helmets. Sitting on the top of the mountain, we ate our lunch while looking out at the beauty of God's creation - the beautiful farmlands and the area between where we were and the city of Hagerstown. Our climbing adventure began by climbing up a fairly easy, 110 foot cliff (and then repelled down). Then, the day got a little harder - climbing a shorting 80 foot cliff - but this time there were overhangs - meaning that we had to climb not only up, but out! It was a great adventure!
